It’s hard to get by in life today without using computers! These days you need online access for so many things: contacting government departments, booking holidays or events, banking and more. You need to know your way around computers and other digital devices to stay in touch with family members, such as email, social media and video chats.

Our computer groups are for people who find reading and writing a bit difficult, and might find a regular computer course hard.  There’s a lot of new language around computers and it is good to learn some of it, so you can ask for help.

Our beginner groups cover the basics of working with Windows, finding things on the internet and internet safety. We also look at basic word-processing and file management skills.

Our intermediate groups learn to use email, and practice writing letters, such as cover letters for job applications.  Our groups are student-centred, so we plan sessions around the needs and interests of the learner. If they want to copy photos from their phone to a computer, or make a PowerPoint presentation, that’s what we will do.
